The atmosphere contained a lot of instability, if only the cap could be broken... today, with a "loaded gun" situation,the risk of severe thunderstorms was pretty high, so we headed for Salisbury Plain to wait for the action to kick off. Towering cumulus started growing as far away as Hertfordshire, but by the time they reached us they were rather bigger than that... a huge multicell storm brought torrential downpours, large hail and plenty of lightning!
