.: 21 march 2004 :.

Having studied the evolving synoptic situation during the days leading up to the 21st, we decided we would head out chasing that day. We headed west along the M4 towards the Cotswolds. Here are my photos, taken towards the end of our day as we encountered what we believe to be a 'low-topped' supercell.
In Filkins and Broadwell, villages just down the road from where we stopped, a tornado was spotted and caused some damage; investigation on behalf of TORRO on Thursday 25th March suggests the tornado was T2-3 on the TORRO tornado intensity scale. See the end of this page for a few damage photos.

Much of the damage in Filkins and Broadwell villages was documented by Bren J. Some photos were contributed by the residents of Filkins. The last seven in the following section are mine; the very last photo was from a point further west (nearer Broadwood) than the other images here.
